Delete your gabble – Find & Chat account

01 Before you delete

• Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play. Cancel it in the Google Play app under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions (how to cancel).
• Unused Gum is lost. Your Gum balance, including Gum you paid for, is removed and cannot be restored or transferred.

02 Delete in the app

1. Open gabble and go to the Profile tab.
2. Tap the Settings (gear) icon, then Delete account (Korean: 설정 → 계정 삭제).
3. Choose a reason and tap Continue (계속).
4. Add a comment if you like and tap Continue again.
5. In the Are you sure? dialog (정말 탈퇴하시겠어요?), tap Delete account (계정 삭제).

Your account is deleted immediately, and you are signed out on every device. Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account.

03 Request deletion without the app

Email pinekey.dev@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my gabble account", sent from the email address you use to sign in to gabble (for Google sign-in, the email of that Google account). Include your gabble nickname so we can find the account. If you can no longer use that address, write from any address with your nickname and roughly when you signed up; we will ask for details that show the account is yours.

We delete the account within 30 days of confirming the request and reply when it is done. The same data is deleted and kept as described below. If your account was created before September 10, 2026, say whether you also want your data deleted from the archive described below.

04 What is deleted

• Your sign-in details: email and password, or your Google or Apple sign-in link.
• Your profile photos, including the stored image files (if a file deletion fails, the file can remain at its address — email us and we will remove it), and your hashtags.
• Your feed posts and the likes on them, and the likes you gave to posts.
• Likes and greetings you sent or received, and your blocks.
• Your push notification tokens, your place in the matching queue, and your Gum balance.
• You leave all your chats. A chat in which you were the last participant is deleted together with its messages.

05 What is kept, and for how long

• Messages in chats that still have another participant — including the opening message of a greeting — stay visible to that person, shown without your name or photo, until the chat is deleted (when its last participant leaves or deletes their account).
• Purchase, subscription, and Gum records are kept with the link to your gabble account removed, for refunds, accounting, tax, and fraud prevention. They still contain the store's order ID and purchase token. App feedback is kept the same way, to improve the app.
• A de-identified account record — your nickname is replaced and your bio erased — is kept with your gender, date of birth, country, sign-up date, match history, daily-activity records, and the deletion reason and any comment you gave (with your app platform and version), for aggregate statistics. It no longer contains your email, sign-in identifiers, nickname, photos, or contact details. For accounts created before September 10, 2026, see the archive described below.
• The records above have no automatic deletion date; we keep them for as long as they are needed for these purposes.
• Backups and logs: automated database backups are kept for one day, server logs for a limited time, and crash reports and diagnostic logs sent by the app for 90 days (Firebase Crashlytics). Database snapshots we take before updating the service are kept until we delete them.
• Accounts created before September 10, 2026. On that date gabble (formerly "just chat") moved to a new system. We kept an archive of the data the previous system held at that time — including your email address, password hash, nickname and other profile details, photo links, push token, posts, purchase and subscription records, and chat history — in our database on AWS in the United States and in a MongoDB Atlas database. The archive is not used to run gabble and is not removed when you delete your account. Ask us at pinekey.dev@gmail.com and we will delete your data from the archive; copies inside database snapshots and backups remain until those snapshots and backups are deleted.
• Emails you send us, including this deletion request, and emails we sent you, such as password-reset emails, are kept in our mailbox.

06 Delete some of your data and keep your account

• In the app, you can delete your profile photos and your feed posts, remove likes you gave to posts, and change or clear your bio and hashtags.
• For anything else, email pinekey.dev@gmail.com with the subject "Delete some of my gabble data" from the email address you use to sign in, and tell us what you want deleted. We reply within 30 days of confirming the request. The records described in section 05 that we must keep are kept.
